I have been inspired by a hope for peaceful resolution in Ukraine, to create an original piece in honor of a classic painting entitled The Madonna of Kyiv and I will be sharing it with anyone who stops by my studio on April 21st. Included in the painting is a reflection of the bell tower at St. Sofia’s cathedral, the Madonna and Christ child embracing in the midst of turmoil and a field of symbolic sunflowers being affected by bombs falling on the horizon.

I will be offering prints of this piece with 50 percent of profits being sent to the well-known charity Doctors Without Borders, as they are giving a lot of aid to Ukraine and neighboring countries currently housing more than 4.3 million refugees.
